I have a passion for growing plants and decorating my place with beautiful lively foliage. As you know, plants are expensive, I find myself saying “just one more plant”, but my bank account doesn’t love it as much as I do. My second issue is, I keep running out of room and wanting to get my plants off the floor and decorate with them.

If you are looking for some cost-effective, stylish ways to decorate your place with plants, let me give you some inspiration and tips from my place.

Wood Shelving

I got this cute wood shelf from Ikea, with a few measurements and screws you can easily stack your favourite plants, cuttings, and vases.

Crates or Benches

I got this super cheap wooden crate at Home Depot. You can store vases, pots and cuttings inside or flip it upside down and use it as a stand.

Reused Side-Tables

My friend gifted me this side table she didn’t have use for in her new place. I wasn’t sure what I’d use it for or if I had space in my Vancouver apartment (insert: my place is small). But I played around with it and found it to be a perfect spot to put 2-3 plants that I rotate.

Macramé Plant Hangers

Having hanging plants in your place can freshen up some dead space and adds a new layer to your decor with a boho-chic vibe. I got this one from a Dollar Store and it works perfectly. I’ve recently had a craft night with a girlfriend to venture out and try making our own as well. I will keep you posted!

DIY Pots & Containers

I’ve started to reuse take-out containers, candle jars, glass food jars, and anything else that is cute and works for my cuttings and propagation.
